I was at the Festival of Books at UCLA all weekend. It was like SXSW for books, tons of author panels, booths, signings, etc.
There were some people there promoting websites, one was a social networking website for book readers. – DL
Wow. Some great company, and my gig was your favorite. I am flattered!
Many thanks.
David
It works! But this book is not just for single guys. My wife “loved” when I made one of the recipes in this book!
How about this one for your list?
“I Am America (And So Can You!)” by Stephen Colbert
I love Bob!
David,
Many thanks for taking the time to read my book and write about it here. I appreciate it.
Cheers, David
Thanks Cathy, we tried hard to make a book that a marketer or entrepreneur could digest on a 2-3 hour plane flight. Appreciate your coverage!
I noticed a review of this review. Thought I’d post it here as well.
New Book Details Online Resources for Travelers
05 Jul 07 by Steve Broback
The handy review site blogonbooks just posted about a new book that I’m eager to get my hands on. It’s titled The Traveler’s Web and it focuses on the vast array of Web resources for travelers. The folks at extremesearcher.com have posted all the links detailed in the book, so you can click through to many of the resources immediately.
Can you spare some of that sympathy for the real victim, Lana Clarkson. To know her was to love her, according to those who knew her. If Spector hadn’t been enabled for so many years by those who knew he had a problem, she would still be alive. Yet, ultimately, Spector is responsible for his own actions. Too bad no one had the courage to stand up to him and take those guns away.
All woman are bunnies. Thank you for the review, I most definetely want to read into the lives behind these woman.
This book seems to be desirable for contractors, designers, and admirers alike. Tis’ the season for pools!
You can say that again. I read this review and went out and bought this so as to have something to keep me cool in these hot AZ summers we have here in the Tuscon area. I can’t afford a pool but with the A/C and this book, it’s the closest I can get. Thanks for the turn on B.O.B.!
I am anxious to get this as I have been patiently awaiting to read another book by Khaled Hosseini.
Always loved the Clash and you are right about their importance. Curious to read his book because it seems like he had a pretty up close view of the whole thing. Thanks for bring this one to our attention.
ok, maybe you’re right about the girl, but from what I saw this book is about lots more than the final ending. There is a lot of history here that has nothing to do with that. Spector was an intense, perhaps bizarre musical genius long before this last (sad) chapter of his life.
Youi are right. He paints a very bleak story with simple wording that really makes the book flow.
Oh, puhleeze sista. When are you gals gonna wise up an see this as more (s)expoitation from the mind of another dirty old man. (a rich one, but just the same) Hef is living in a fantasy world. Real life is simply not like this at all. And I bet these gals are not exactly mensa-types either if you know what I mean. Jeez.
I recently picked up this book before booking a trip to Europe this fall. I think it’s very useful for telling you things you might not otherwise find on the web. My wife and I were able to book trains, and hotels (and other visits like mueseum hours and the like) all before we take off this September. Very helpful resourse. Thanks.
yikes, man, gotta read this
feh. Hopper’s trite. “Nighthawks at the Diner” is just “Dogs Playing Poker” with people in it. Art for sophomores.
“hey, I have a lower back tattoo that totally expresses my inner being! wanna see it? It’s sanskrit for ‘dumb ho’!!!”
I ADORE THIS BOOK. that it all.
I think that many dedicated readers, myself among them, would like to see Stephanie finally make a choice between Ranger and Morelli by now. The back and forth is getting a bit boring by this thirteenth book but Evanovich has continued the series successfully with this tension.
I recently tried to find this book but it was sold out everywhere. Do you know if there is some kind of shortage at the moment? Thanks for the review.
Looking forward to Jann Wenner’s book on the good doctor. After all RS had a ringside seat for most of Thompson’s best work. Gonzo indeed!
I bet it is, sister! it bet it is.
Added to next months list. Thanks. Ed.
Much obliged. Good luck with it. – David J. – Blog on Books.
Always been a big Bernstein fan. I am reading this book now and he seems good with the research. Detailed and very fair. (i.e. not a fluff piece or one-sided propaganda). I bet she has read some of these books because despite her chilly reputation, she seemed to have warmed up on the recent YouTube debate. Let’s see what happens as this rolls on.
We really like books that have web ‘updates’. Posting links to this website info in your review is a good idea.
So I see two reviews on this site. Of the two, which book do you most recommend?

Pretty funny…
Pretty funny…
My favorite is still ‘the White Album’. A classic coming of age and one that my own upbringing can relate to. This one is quite a powerful work as well.

I read this review and later got the book. The reason? Anyone who comes up with character names like these has got to put together a good story. Thanks.
Nice site you have going. BTW, thanks for mentioning the Colbert book. I have been waiting for this one for months. See ya.

feminism gives us the choice to be brainless twats like these or do something with our lives. glad for the choice, sorry for the way some dumbbunnies go with it. won’t read, thanks for the review.
The last sentance of the review is very true. So what about this Hillary – Obama rumor? Comments?
I tried to find it last week, too. I eventually found it at an airport bookstore in Chicago. You might try that kind of place. Good book btw.
Is your blog mentioned in there? (If not, don’t review it!)
I just bought the new Sony Alpha digital SLR system. Are there any recent books specific to that line that you might recommend? Thanks.
It’s so hot right now, I think I need this book fast. Thanks for the tip!
Sylvia always has some interesting observations and personal reflections. I look forward to reading this new one.

This seems like a good idea. Web video is a natural extension for many in the print publishing world. Good article. Nice site, btw.
Love the concept. Must explore deeper. Thanks for finding this one…
This sounds great. So where do we get these books?
Yes I would like to know if this designer is related to a Rachel Fyfe or is this Rachel You inspirations for your book covers are very interesting especially since adultery seems to be prominant and running rampant in society today does your inspiration ever come from personal experiences such as women and I use the term very loosely because real women don’t do such things who have no remorse in making them selves available to married men even after they have been told the truth of the matter by the mans wife I think that is so sinful would love your thoughts on theis Ms.Fyfe
I love her Southern Vampire Mysteries. But I have never read this series. I will have to pick up the first book.
Would love to submit reviews. How do I get involved with you guys?

ok…… really? I havent read it, but the quote confuses me. Aren’t fictional books sopposed to not have happened. I can not stand books that are basically history books. I mean that may just be my taste, but i wouldn’t read this book!

How can I lay my hands on the LA Noir?
Great review! Solis is brilliant.
The Noir books are part of a cool series from New York’s Akashic Books. There are now many in the series (Las Vegas, Wall Street, Miami, D.C., etc…) The series began with Brooklyn Noir in 2004. You can find them all at their website: http://www.akashicbooks.com/noirseries.htm

This is awesome. Where did you find this book? I read the stuff on his website and it is downright hysterical? Will def go get this one soon.
I found this book to be very confusing. I get his point about the moment of inspiration but there is a lot of extraneous stuff that just makes no sense here.

Hi people,
What online fanzines do you read and would recommend? I am a die hard fan of rockabilly.
For all you punk folks out there I recommend The Enough Fanzine. It is one of the first rock fanzines on the www.
They have throusands of reviews from the most independent bands all over the world. Check them out online: Enough Fanzine. Best of it all, they are 100% non-profit and just helping the scene!
Looking forward to your recommendations.
Cheers!
So glad you featured these Human Rights Reports. Most blogs wouldn’t think to cover this kind of thing as it’s not a ‘bestseller’ or the like, but their work is so important exposing the world to abuse hidden from the mainstream media. Good job!
