I was at the Festival of Books at UCLA all weekend. It was like SXSW for books, tons of author panels, booths, signings, etc.
There were some people there promoting websites, one was a social networking website for book readers. – DL

New Book Details Online Resources for Travelers
05 Jul 07 by Steve Broback

The handy review site blogonbooks just posted about a new book that I’m eager to get my hands on. It’s titled The Traveler’s Web and it focuses on the vast array of Web resources for travelers. The folks at extremesearcher.com have posted all the links detailed in the book, so you can click through to many of the resources immediately.

Can you spare some of that sympathy for the real victim, Lana Clarkson. To know her was to love her, according to those who knew her. If Spector hadn’t been enabled for so many years by those who knew he had a problem, she would still be alive. Yet, ultimately, Spector is responsible for his own actions. Too bad no one had the courage to stand up to him and take those guns away.

This book seems to be desirable for contractors, designers, and admirers alike. Tis’ the season for pools!

  12. sharkfish on July 19th, 2007 2:59 pm

You can say that again. I read this review and went out and bought this so as to have something to keep me cool in these hot AZ summers we have here in the Tuscon area. I can’t afford a pool but with the A/C and this book, it’s the closest I can get. Thanks for the turn on B.O.B.!

  15. nik tricutt, UK on July 21st, 2007 1:45 pm

ok, maybe you’re right about the girl, but from what I saw this book is about lots more than the final ending. There is a lot of history here that has nothing to do with that. Spector was an intense, perhaps bizarre musical genius long before this last (sad) chapter of his life.

  16. Jaine V., 34 on July 21st, 2007 12:47 pm

Youi are right. He paints a very bleak story with simple wording that really makes the book flow.

  17. melissavee on July 21st, 2007 1:52 pm

Oh, puhleeze sista. When are you gals gonna wise up an see this as more (s)expoitation from the mind of another dirty old man. (a rich one, but just the same) Hef is living in a fantasy world. Real life is simply not like this at all. And I bet these gals are not exactly mensa-types either if you know what I mean. Jeez.

  18. Eric Lindstrom, Mich. on July 21st, 2007 1:03 pm

I recently picked up this book before booking a trip to Europe this fall. I think it’s very useful for telling you things you might not otherwise find on the web. My wife and I were able to book trains, and hotels (and other visits like mueseum hours and the like) all before we take off this September. Very helpful resourse. Thanks.

I think that many dedicated readers, myself among them, would like to see Stephanie finally make a choice between Ranger and Morelli by now. The back and forth is getting a bit boring by this thirteenth book but Evanovich has continued the series successfully with this tension.

I bet she has read some of these books because despite her chilly reputation, she seemed to have warmed up on the recent YouTube debate. Let’s see what happens as this rolls on.

Yes I would like to know if this designer is related to a Rachel Fyfe or is this Rachel You inspirations for your book covers are very interesting especially since adultery seems to be prominant and running rampant in society today does your inspiration ever come from personal experiences such as women and I use the term very loosely because real women don’t do such things who have no remorse in making them selves available to married men even after they have been told the truth of the matter by the mans wife I think that is so sinful would love your thoughts on theis Ms.Fyfe

    Hi Phil and Gary,

I just picked up your book recommended by our mutual friend Daniel Inart and I was surprised to see all my old friends exept for my stores, Music Odyssey. We were one of the pioneers of discount lp’s in the late 60’s and everyone in LA has heard or been to the stores. Did you forget me?

    Thank You

    Steve

P.S. I have some of the same pictures of Jim Greenwood. Good friends with Rhino, Manny Aaron started me in the business in 1967.

We went on to become Odyssey Video.

    Hi people,

What online fanzines do you read and would recommend? I am a die hard fan of rockabilly.

For all you punk folks out there I recommend The Enough Fanzine. It is one of the first rock fanzines on the www.

They have throusands of reviews from the most independent bands all over the world. Check them out online: Enough Fanzine. Best of it all, they are 100% non-profit and just helping the scene!

    Looking forward to your recommendations.

    Cheers!

Last year I told Niall Ferguson of my 21 yr. 580pp ms. showing James Warburg kidnapped the Lindbergh baby. He said:”I’m on that. Give me your card.” His book distances himself from James calling him a “Harvard half-wit” etc. The FBI File shows there is a REAL Warburg story out there. It links James to the prime suspect – the Morrow’s dressmaker, her sister is James’s governess. He brought them over from Hamburg, his birthplace. The motive is ALL Warburg – Lindbergh’s father Jew-baited Paul Warburg at 1913 Fed. Reserve Chairman Hearings. Paul dies 32 days before kidnapping. James has weekly poker game with mobsters & a life-long history of Lindbergh opposition culminating in a debate with him at Madison Square Garden. The 1st marked ransom bill turns up in Greenwich, Conn. James hometown. So Siegmund’s “halfwit” cousin is the REAL story waiting to be told. Alan Marlis CUNY Professor
